Obituary

CARROLLTON – Adam Bryant "A. B." Bailey, age 24, of Carrollton, Ala., walked into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on August 14, 2016. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Adam had touched in some small way throughout his short yet very memorable life. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Englewood Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa with Rev. Al Brown and Rev. Joey Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery in the Stansel Community with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be tonight, August 19, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bobby and Jewel Gilbert of Pickensville; uncle, Brian Bailey of Reform; and great-grandparents, Grover and Cora Bailey of Reform, Flo Rodgers of Tuscaloosa and Henry and Oree Johnson of Aliceville.Survivors include his parents, Tim and Jan Bailey of Pickensville, Ala.; sister, Cassie Bailey of Pickensville, Ala.; paternal grandparents, Bobby and Patsy Bailey of Reform, Ala.; maternal grandparents, Tommy and Judy Johnson of Aliceville, Ala.; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.Adam was born July 16, 1992 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was a member of Stansel Baptist Church and graduated from Hillcrest High School in Tuscaloosa, Ala. in 2010. Adam also graduated from Alabama Fire College in December of 2014 with the "Class of 1406 Smokehounds" and completed PEC Safety training in Morgan City, La.Adam enjoyed working outside in a close crew with Forestry Research Contractors out of Gordo, Ala. He had a passion for working out and motivating others to be the best they could be. Adam will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He loved people and had a heart for helping others.Through Adam's life, we created wonderful memories and it is a privilege to be his parents. He was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, brother, grandson and friend. Although we will miss him every day, especially his winning smile, he will forever remain in our hearts.Pallbearers will be Dustin Mosley, Cameron Sanders, Cole Williams, Cole Ward, Kent Gardner, Mason Hood, Brett Davis and Ricky Byars.Honorary pallbearers are Alabama Fire College "Class of 1406 Smokehounds", Hillcrest High School Class of 2010 and the DCH Regional Medical Center Trauma Intensive Care Unit. Words cannot express our heartfelt gratitude for your care and support of Adam. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.
