REFORM – Alene Spain Herd, age 94, died January 2, 2017 at Pickens County Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Reform First Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Meherg and Rev. Brannon Pinion officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following service at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Herd; son, Doug Herd; her parents; and her daughter-in-law, Kay Jones Herd.Survivors include her granddaughter, Misty Herd Jaynes (Bert); grandson, Jeremy Herd (Lindsey) and grandchildren, Baylee, Sadee and Kam. Mrs. Herd was born March 4, 1922 in Benevola, Alabama to the late Emmett C. Spain and Mattie E. Robinson Spain. She was a member of Reform First Baptist Church, co-owner of The Waysider Florist and life-long resident of Pickens County.Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Maggie Graham Sunday School Class of Reform Baptist Church, Ronnie and Faye Dudley and Cindy Sullivan.
