Allen Preston Tate, age 53, of Gordo, AL passed away October 4, 2023 at his residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, October  6, 2023 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Bearden officiating.  Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his infant brother, baby Tate; grandparents, Lewis and Laverne Lowe; grandfather, Roy Tate and great-aunt, Bessie Will Lowe.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Sammye McGee Tate; daughters, Bailey Tate Wheat (Hunter) and Sonnye Marie Tate; son, Adam Preston Tate (Teressa); grandchildren, Carter, Asher, Caspian, Beau and Preston; parents, Billy and Janice Tate; grandmother, Mary Koon; uncle, Robert Tate and aunts, Fran Blizzard, Julia Parham (Ricky) and Libby Lowe.
Allen was born March 14, 1970 in Reform, Alabama.  He was an employee of Phifer Wire, Inc. in Tuscaloosa.  Allen was very active and a faithful member of all three Masonic Lodges of Pickens County.  His home was Gordo Masonic Lodge # 564 where he was a past Master and held several other positions over the years.  He will be very much missed in his work and his presence in the lodge.
Pallbearers will be Brady Perrigin, Tim Bailey, J. J. Evans, Matt Tate, Preston Tate and Dr. Scott Fulgham.
Honorary Pallbearers are Masonic Lodge members of Pickens County, friends and co-workers at Phifer Wire, Inc and Gordo High School Class of 1988.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Gordo Masonic Lodge #564.
