Alton Miller Pate, age 87, of Carrollton, AL died October 16, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.  Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Lynn Gibson, David Pate and Bro. Keith Crowley officiating.  Burial will be in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Clarence Pate (Barbra) and Clifton Pate, all of Carrollton, AL.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ethel Mae Pate; daughter, Cindy McDaniel (Mike) of Carrollton; son, Terry Pate (Delaine) of Carrollton; brother, Jerry Dean Pate (Susan) of Carrollton; sister-in-law, Wilda Pate of Carrollton; four grandchildren, Hannah Lawson (Brent), Josh Pate (Brandy), Shae McGee and Ty McDaniel; nine great-grandchildren, Brodi McGee, Braner McGee, Rowdy McDaniel, Mattie Lawson, Caden Lawson, Kinsley Lawson, Karsen Pate, Kiptyn Pate and Brooke Baker.
Alton was born January 25, 1938 in the Marvin Chapel community of Carrollton, Alabama to the late Comer Pate and Lucille Alexander Pate.  He was a member of Carrollton Church of God and a retired self-employed logger.
Pallbearers will be Mike Pate, Charlie Pate, David Pate, John Pate, Adam Pate, Ashley Pate, Chris Gulley, Herbert House, Doug Hester, Leroy Jones, Tim Lanier and Harold Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama, Chuck Plowman, Bernice Hewitt, Jane Alexander, Tina Sudduth and Bro. Tim Holder.
