ALICEVILLE | Anne Long Baker, age 81, of Aliceville, died November 12, 2014, at Sansing Country Home. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014, at Panola United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends after the service in the church sanctuary. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Perry Long; and her grandson, Keith Tuma.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Baker of Aliceville, Ala.; daughter, Donnalou Tuma (Ed) of Junction City, Ark.; sisters, Blanche Ewing of Brooksville, Miss., Sue Sanders (Flournoy) of Demopolis, Ala., Nancy Garnand of Eutaw, Ala., and Nell Gibson (Elton) of Aliceville, Ala.; brothers, Winston Long (Karol) of St. Amant, La. and Harold Long (Kathy) of Dancy, Ala.; three grandchildren, Allan Tuma, Stephanie Pepper (P.W.) and Adam Tuma; and three great-grandchildren, Alex, Kaylee and Corey.
Anne was born August 1, 1933 in Cochrane, Alabama to the late Winston Long and Nannie Smith Long. She was a member of Panola United Methodist Church and the retired U.S. Postmaster of Panola, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Howard Fuller, Bobby McBride, Johnny Baker, Davis Baker, Jimmy Basset and Tommy Rogers.
Honorary pallbearers are Louis and Doris McBride, A. J. Heritage, members of Panola United Methodist Church and Sansing Country Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
