Ann Elizabeth Burns Brown was born in Hale County, AL on December 28, 1947 to George and Elizabeth Burns. She passed away peacefully at her home in Greensboro, AL on February 22, 2025, with her loving husband of 59 years, by her side.
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Oakwood Martin Cemetery in Greensboro, AL which is located across from Alfa Insurance (700 State Street, Greensboro, AL, 36744) with Bro. Dee McGuire and Bro. Steve Vernon officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. A short visitation will follow the service at the graveside.
Ann is survived by her husband, Jerry Brown; son, Steve Brown (Kelley) of Elmore; daughter, Stephanie Brown Richey (Jimmy) of Greensboro; son, Shannon Brown of Huntsville; four grandsons, Chad, John Michael and Eli Richey of Greensboro, and Collin Brown of Livingston; three granddaughters, Anna Katherine Brown of Livingston, Bradley Brown Law (Cade) and Barrett Brown of Elmore, and great-grandson Stetson Law of Elmore.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, George Burns and Elizabeth Burns Baines; her sister, Ruthie Burns Coley (Cecil); her brothers, Herman Wayne Burns (Miriam) and William Leon Burns, and her beloved granddaughter Loryn Brown.
Ann was raised in Greensboro, AL but traveled the US and abroad for 20+ years with her Air Force husband. She loved her family fiercely, and always went the extra mile to make holidays extra special. Some of her family's very best memories are of Christmas at "Nana's".
The family would like to offer special thanks to Manner Nickson, Ruby Thomas, Catherine Smith, Tiffany Averette, and the team at Southern Care Hospice of Demopolis, especially Amanda Smith Kaylor, for the extraordinary love and care that they provided.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Greensboro Baptist Church, 908 Main Street, Greensboro, AL 36744 in memory of Ann.
