Anna Pratt Hester, age 70, of Pickensville, AL passed away August 19, 2023 at here residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, August 25, 2023 at Pickensville Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Jones and Bro. Charlie Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Carrollton City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, James Wilburn and Ola Brooks Keating Carpenter; aunts, Loris Madison, Cara Mims and Sula Davis; niece, Emily Madison Pratt, nephew, John Carter Pratt; cousin, Glenda Jones and father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John "Buddy" Hester.
Survivors include her husband, Dexter Michael Hester of Pickensville; stepdaughters, Ashley Middleton (Joshua) and Amy McDonald (Michael) of Carrollton; brothers, George Pratt (Shannon) of Fairhope and Jack Pratt (Meagan) of Carrollton; sister, Cara Chute (Earle) of Johnson City, TN; sisters-in-law, Bonita Hamlin (the late Bobby Hamlin) of Aliceville, Lana Griffin (Butch) of Helena and Patricia Hester (the late Steve Hester); three grandchildren, Gunner Hucks, Emma Grace Hucks and Sadie Hucks, all of Carrollton and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Anna was born May 23, 1953 in Aliceville, Alabama to the late J. Groce Pratt and Betty Brooks Carpenter Pratt. She was a graduate of Pickens Academy Class of 1971 and graduate of Mississippi University for Women Class of 1975 with a professional degree. Anna was a member of Pickensville Baptist Church and a retired social worker.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Middleton, Michael McDonald, Chad Hester, Larry "Butch" Griffin, Griffin Brewer, Ethan Hamlin and Gunner Hucks.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Jacob Guin and staff of UMC of Carrollton, Dr. Sunil Chandra and staff at Enhabit Hospice, Gentry Drugs staff, members of Pickensville Baptist Church, members of Aliceville First Baptist Church and Cathy Plowman.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to a charity of your choice.
