Annie Ruth Yerby Young, age 62, of Carrollton, AL passed away February 20, 2022 at her residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Trey Reece and Bro. Lynn Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William M. Yerby.
Survivors include her niece, Robin Yerby Gates (John); nephew, William J. "Bill" Yerby (Crystal); great-nephews, Brian Gates (Bella Juan) and Samuel Gates; great-nieces, Courtney Gates and Aoife Yerby and a host of cousins.
Annie was born September 5, 1959 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late James C. Yerby and Lura Earnestine Smith Yerby. She was a member of Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be Jay Johnson, Ronald Acker, Larry Smith, Jason Vice, Terry Pate and Brian Gates.
Honorary Pallbearers are Timmy McDaniel, Dennis McDaniel, Robert Acker, Greg Acker, Jerry Dean Pate, Daniel Ponds, Carrollton High School Class of 1977 and Hospice of West Alabama.
