JACKSONVILLE, FLA. - Arei B. McGahey, age 78, died September 20, 2017, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Antioch Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jonny House officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jimmy Bain.
Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, Billy R. McGahey; son, Michael R. McGahey (Jean) of Davao, Philippines; daughter, Nancy M. Sima (Dan) of Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Bobby C. Bain (Dianne) of Ethelsville; two grandchildren, Lovelyn Kaye Alesna and Danny Sima (Nikki), two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Payton Sima; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Arei was born March 25, 1939 in Guntersville, Alabama to the late Robert N. Bain and Mildred Culbert Bain. She was a member of Antioch Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Reform, Ala. and Community Presbyterian Church in Howey In The Hills, Fla. and a retired manager for the Social Security Administration in Birmingham, Ala.
