She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wilson Kimbrell, Sr.; her parents and brothers, Roy Dean Powell and Willard Carson Powell.
Survivors include her sons, Ralph Wilson "Kim" Kimbrell, Jr. (Karen) of Northport, James David "Jimmy" Kimbrell (Jean) of Gordo and Jeffrey Neal "Jeff" Kimbrell (Christy) of Mayhew, MS; brother, Donald Max Powell (Shirley); six grandchildren, Brad Kimbrell (Kelli), Emily Kimbrell Skelton (Brooks), Trent Kimbrell (Heather), Jamie Kimbrell Krolly (DJ), Brady Jackson Kimbrell and Elizabeth Howard; eight great-grandchildren, Rosie Kaye Skelton, Joy Logan Kimbrell, Maxwell Wesley Kimbrell, Morgan Krolly, Chloe Krolly, Ryder Krolly, Asher Krolly and James Waylon Mullins and a number of nieces and nephews. Barbara was born April 23, 1940 in Aliceville, Alabama to the late Levi Herbert Powell and Alma Iree Gautney Powell.  She was a member of Carrollton Baptist Church and co-owner of Kimbrell Home.
Barbara was a fierce defender of her faith in Jesus Christ. Her love for Jesus was fervent and unashamedly portrayed to others in how she lived her life. She was a Prayer Warrior that when you asked her to pray for something or someone, you knew it would be done with unquestionable assurance that it would reach the ears of Jesus, and she was "sure as the sun coming up in the morning" that He would be faithful to grant those petitions. She was lovingly known to her family as "Nana". Her unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, and friends was clearly evident. In the concluding hours of her life, Barbara's last words (that she repeated over and over) to her surrounding family were, "I love you", "I love you", "I love you".  Barbara's time here on earth was a blessing to us all, but she always looked forward to one day entering into the Gates of Heaven and the glorious presence of her Lord and Savior. Today we celebrate that that day has come for her.
Pallbearers will be Brad Kimbrell, Trent Kimbrell, Brady Kimbrell, D. J. Krolly, Brooks Skelton and Dave Wood.
Honorary Pallbearers are Sympra nurses, Heritage Health Care staff,  Southern Care Hospice and members of Carrollton Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Gideons International, Pickens Co. Camp, P.O. Box 287, Carrollton, AL 35447.
