Barbara was born December 12, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio, grew up in Gordo, Alabama and later moved to Tuscaloosa where she remained. She graduated from Gordo High School, was a proud Green Wave, and head majorette. Barbara lovingly raised three children, Keith, Teryl, and Leah. She was grandmother to seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She spent her career at the University of Alabama working as the secretary for the Dean of the Medical School. When she retired, she had been there for twenty-five plus years.

Her first love was riding horses. She grew up riding and enjoyed participating in the Racking and Walking horse industry. This industry was her second family. She loved supporting her children and grandchildren in the industry as well as any other activities they participated in such as gymnastics, football, baseball, and band. Barbara loved traveling, whether it was to a horse show, taking a cruise, the beach, or the mountains. She also loved Alabama football, and you could always catch her cheering on the Tide whenever they played.

Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She loved to make hand made ornaments, give gifts, but most importantly to celebrate the birth of her Savior. Barbara was kind, generous, had a warm smile and touched endless lives.

Honorary pallbearers are the nursing staff of Magnolia Lane at Glen Haven Nursing Home and ACG Hospice.
