ALICEVILLE | Ben Ellis Ezelle, Sr., age 74, of Aliceville, died March 15, 2014, at home. Memorial Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Aliceville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Roger Short officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church in the church parlor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Herndon Ezelle; father, Edward Cohen "Ted" Ezelle, Sr.; and brother, Doug Ezelle. Survivors include his daughters, Beth Taylor (Johnny) of Steens, Miss., Donna Nelson (Bill) of Leeds, Ala., and Martha Lynn E. Barnes of Pickensville, Ala.; son, Ben E. Ezelle, Jr. (Tracy) of McCalla, Ala.; mother, Irene Miller Ezelle of Aliceville, Ala.; brother, Teddy Ezelle (Sharon) of Aliceville, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Mary Jo Thompson (Patrick), John L. Nelson (Libby), Matt Taylor, Brittany Nelson, Kelby Barnes (Julia), Ben Ezelle III and Kristen Ezelle; and three great-grandchildren, Georgia Thompson, Frank Thompson, and Dahlia Nelson. Mr. Ezelle was born November 22, 1939 in Carrollton, Alabama. He was a member of Aliceville First United Methodist Church and a self employed plumber and electrician. Ben was a veteran of the Army National Guard and a life long resident of Pickens County. Honorary pallbearers are John Nelson, Matt Taylor, Kelby Barnes, Ben "Trey" Ezelle III, Patrick Thompson and Wes Lindley.
