Bennie Byars Mitchell, age 90, of Gordo, AL died November 13, 2025 at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home.  Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Boothe officiating.  Burial will be in Center Springs Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior and immediatley following the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff W. Mitchell; her parents; sister, Betty Fair; brother, Bobby Byars and brother-in-law, Jimmy Garner.
Survivors include her daughter, Bridgette Mitchell Powell; sisters, Billie Hall (Gerald) and Bonnie Garner; brother, William Kirk "Sonny" Byars, Jr. (Rosie); brother-in-law, Ben Mack Fair; two grandchildren, Brooke Lang (Brad) and Jordan Powell (Haleigh); four great-grandchildren, Brayden, Gabby, Ford and Saylor and special caregiver, Sue McAteer.
Bennie was born May 22, 1935 in Gordo, Alabama to the late William Kirk Byars, Sr. and Ella Mae House Byars. She was a homemaker and a member of Elmore Center Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Powell, Brad Lang, Brayden Todd, Ford Powell, Mack Fair, Ben Fair, Jarrod Duffy, Bill Estes, Gerald Hall, Dallas Howell, Mike Driver and Sonny Cork.
Honorary Pallbearers are members of Elmore Center Methodist Church, Amy Wyatt and North River Primary Care and Aliceville Manor Nursing Home.
