Benton Cephas “B.C.” Patton, age 82, of Aliceville, AL died June 14, 2026 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Dogwood Chapel in Aliceville. Burial will be in Forest Baptist Church Cemetery in Gordo with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 pm Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th Street NE in Aliceville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Freddie, R. E., John D. and Paul Patton and sisters, Dorothy Davis, Lorrine Pike, Flora Patton and Wheyneman Hayes.

Survivors include his wife of 64 ½ years, Nelda Patton of Aliceville; daughter, Terisa Robbins of Carrollton; son, Brad Patton (Tammie) of Northport; two grandchildren, Breanna Stone Walker (Cody) of Lebanon, TN and Sarah Taylor Patton of Homewood and two great-grandchildren, Everleigh Blair Walker and Fostor Benton Walker.

Born September 12, 1943 in Fayette, Alabama to the late John Benton Patton and Ester Skelton Patton, BC, more appropriately known to most as The Fish Man, was a hardworking man whose kindness, warmth, and love for others touched everyone who knew him. He never met a stranger and was happiest when surrounded by family, friends and the people he cared about. Known for his fun-loving spirit, easy smile and positive outlook on life, he had a way of making others feel welcomed and valued.

One of BC’s greatest joys in life was being PawPaw. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren deeply and cherished every moment spent with them. Whether sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply making them smile, PawPaw’s love was constant and unconditional. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life, and the memories they shared will be treasured forever.

Hard work was a way of life for BC from the time he was a young boy. From working on a farm with his own daddy to working as a meat market manager for a local grocery store to buying a farm where he was a life long resident, BC was doing what he loved. BC raised cotton and soybeans until he started a small business raising and selling catfish. His strong work ethic, generous heart and genuine love for people is what made that small business, known as Patton Catfish, what it is today.

A dear friend of his, Danny Smith, was an invaluable part of BC’s life for many years, where he helped in so many ways with the business. There are not enough ways to express the family’s gratitude for all that Danny has done for BC and the family.

BC leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and countless cherished memories.

Pallbearers are Bual Tubbs, Dual Tubbs, Rayford Waltman, Landon Sahagan, Danny Smith, Mark Patton, Denny Clark and Clarence Morris.

Honorary Pallbearers are Hayes McMahon, Alva Grimsley, Jim Jeter and all the customers of Patton’s Catfish.
