Bessie Watt Poole, age 85, of Aliceville, Alabama passed away February 28, 2024 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, AL. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Dogwood Chapel with Bro. Charlie Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th Street NE in Aliceville.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, James Raymond Poole; her parents and two brothers, David Leon Watt and Robert Allen Watt.
Survivors include her daughters, Tina McAteer (Keith) and Shannon King (Scott); son Patrick Poole (Gloria); sister, Juanita Mullett (Dean); brother, William Ray Watt (Mary); six grandchildren, Patrick McAteer, Lindsey Burge (Chris), Erika Poole, Ryan Poole, Ashton King and Tanner King; two great-grandchildren, Ryker Burge and Cason Burge and a number of nieces and nephews.
Bessie was born September 11, 1938 in Macon, Mississippi to the late Percy Leon Watt and Alleen Maughan Watt. She was a member of Aliceville First Baptist Church and a retired employee of West Alabama Bank & Trust with over 40 years of service.
Honorary Pallbearers are Keith McAteer, Scott King, Patrick McAteer, Tanner King, Ryan Poole, Gary Watt, Ashton King, Chris Burge, former co-workers of WABT, Ann and Kenny Harris, Dot Barrentine and Kathy and Ralph Brandon.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Aliceville First Baptist Church Music Ministry, 323 Broad Street NW, Aliceville, AL 35442.
