Betty Jo Driver, age 84, of Reform, AL and formerly of Echola, died August 26, 2026 at Arbor Woods Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Blake Burkhalter officiating and burial to follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. Skelton Funeral Home of Reform will direct the services. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service and immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Betty Jo was preceded in death by her parents, James T. and Bertie Lee Guy, and her seven siblings, Franklin L. Guy, William Audell Guy, David Leo Guy, James A. Guy, John Clifton Guy, Ella Mae Guy, and Annie Lee Cockrell.

She is survived by her daughter, Melisa Mann Kelley (Toby); granddaughters, Haleigh Powell (Jordan) and Carrington Burkhalter (Blake); and three great-grandchildren, Ford Powell, Saylor Powell, and Elle Burkhalter.

Betty Jo was born on May 19, 1942, in Pickens County, Alabama. She was a lifelong resident of the Echola community and a member of Sardis Free Will Baptist Church.

Betty Jo had a special way of caring for others, and one of the ways she showed her love was through cooking. She was well known for preparing wonderful home-cooked meals and making sure the employees at the car lot, of which she was part owner, were fed each day. Her kitchen was a place where people gathered, and everyone was welcomed. Feeding others brought her great joy.

The baby of eight children, Betty Jo was deeply loved by her family and by the many people who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a personality that was hard to forget. She loved people, enjoyed socializing, and, true to Betty Jo, was always “dolled up” and dressed to a T.

During the last several years of her life, Arbor Woods Health and Rehab became a second home to her. She was quite the social butterfly there and treasured the friendships she made with the residents and the precious staff who cared for her. Her family is especially grateful for the love, friendship, and care she received during her time there.

Betty Jo leaves behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, good food, and love. She will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and all those whose lives were made a little brighter simply by knowing her.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff of Arbor Woods Health and Rehab and Hospice of West Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
