Betty Ray Elmore, age 89, of Tuscaloosa, AL and formerly of Gordo, AL passed away February 28, 2020 at Crimson Village in Tuscaloosa, AL. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday, March 2, 2020 at Gordo First Baptist Church with Rev. Al Elmore and Rev. Pat Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Verner Elmore, Sr.; son, Charles Dennis "Denny" Elmore; her parents; sisters, Marguerite Goddard and Ruth Ray and brothers, James Ray, Woodie Ray, Hubert Ray, Rayburn Ray and Joe Ray.
Survivors include her daughter, Melanie Elmore Gray of Northport, AL; five sons, Gary Elmore (Lee) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Mike Elmore (Debbie) of Northport, AL, Doug Elmore (Cathy) of Louisville, KY, Al Elmore (Lori) of Lima, Ohio and Eddie Elmore (Lisa) of Ralph, AL; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Betty was born December 1, 1930 in Gordo, AL to the late Morgan W. Ray and Donnie Windham Ray. She was a member of Gordo First Baptist Church and a retired seamstress.
Pallbearers will be Bennett Elmore, Jared Gray, Andrew Elmore, Tyler Lee, Austin Ray and Dylan Elmore.
