ALICEVILLE | Betty Jean McKinstry, age 78, of Aliceville, died June 11, 2014, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center. Memorial Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Charlie Wilson officiating. A private burial will be held at Magnolia Memorial Gardens with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th Street NE in Aliceville, Ala. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara McKinstry and her parents. Survivors include her husband, Burdett "Tommy" McKinstry, Jr.; sons, Charles B. McKinstry (Jackie) and Barry L. McKinstry (Elouise); sister, Charlcye Weeks; grandchildren, Shannon Nicole McKinstry, Michael Burdett McKinstry and Jonathan James McKinstry. Mrs. McKinstry was born September 9, 1935 in Calhoun City, Mississippi to the late Charlie Goodson and Mable Aston Goodson. She was a member of Aliceville First Baptist Church, a homemaker and a well known resident of the Aliceville area. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Aliceville First Baptist Church, 323 Broad St., Aliceville, AL 35442.
