Betty Jo Jones Miller, age 81, of Carrollton, AL passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at her residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Union Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Lynn and Dr. Leslie Oglesby officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Springs Methodist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Edward "Ed" Miller Sr.; sons, Samuel Miller and James Miller; her parents; three sisters, infant twins and Nannie Mae Gray (Price); four brothers, Billy R. Jones (Ann), Robert Jones, Jimmy Jones and Tom Jones and brothers-in-law, Silas Yarbrough, Billy Neese, Bobby Casteel and John Smith.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughters, Judy Forte (Rodney) and Donna Oglesby (Jeff); sons, Ernest E. "Ernie" Miller Jr. (Alison) and Marvin Miller (Amber); sisters, Sue Yarbrough, Doris Neese and Wanda Smith; sisters-in-law, Cathy Jones and Diane Jones; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Betty Jo was born Sunday, December 17, 1939 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama to the late Sam Jones and Cecil White Adams Jones. She was a retired lab technician at Aliceville Cotton Mill and a member of Union Free Will Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Joey Oglesby, Leslie Oglesby, Justin Forte, Robert Cain, Daniel Miller and Trey Miller.
Honorary Pallbearers are the staff of Hospice of West Alabama.
