GORDO – Betty Faye McCrackin Plowman, age 69, of Gordo, Alabama, died October 20, 2017, at Pickens County Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Pritchett officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be immediately following the service.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Wade Plowman; father, J.T. McCrackin; mother, Muggie Starnes; sister, Eva Arledge and a brother, Roy Hubert McCrackin.
Survivors include her partner of 44 years, Bennie Windham; three sons, Larmar, Chad and Bryson Crenshaw; three grandsons, Joseph Plowman (Leann), Travis Plowman (Macie) and Jerry Plowman (Allison); daughter-in-law, Lisa Plowman and four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lottie Moody (Hollis), Gaye Harcrow and Charlene Newell; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Betty was born February 15, 1948 in Pickens County Alabama to the late J.T. McCrackin and Muggie Sanders Starnes. She was a member of the Baptist faith and was retired from the Tuscaloosa City Board of Education.
Pallbearers will be Eric Brown, Mike Huffman, Nick Estes, Kris Cooper, Ken McCrackin and David Channell.
