William Oliver "Bill" Parker, Jr., age 74, of Panola, AL passed away June 22, 2022 at his residence. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday, June 27, 2022 at Panola United Methodist Church with Rev. Gene Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Oliver Parker, Sr. and Merle Walker Parker.
Bill is survived by his sister, Patti Trethaway (Rick); three children, Caitlin Fetner (Matthew), Penni Allison, and Oliver Parker (Alison); five grandchildren, Holden Turner, Brooklyn Allison, Maggie Parker, Will Parker, and Jackson Fetner; two more grandchildren he claimed and loved, Vincent and Bryant Deas and two nieces, Lauren Brennan (Rodney) and Amy Moss (Corey).
Bill was born October 13, 1947 in Macon, Mississippi. He was a loving father, grandfather, and best friend to many. He belonged to the Panola First United Methodist Church. He was a true patriot, having served in the US Army Reserves, Livingston Unit. Bill's wit was sharp and dry and he loved to watch baseball, always full of stories about baseball legends. His camp house was a welcome getaway for many. Bill loved the Crimson Tide and he was a fixture in his community, an unfailing support for his friends and family.
Pallbearers will be Vince Deas, Vincent Deas, Bryant Deas, Terry Pat Reynolds II, Jay Parker and Matthew Fetner.
Honorary Pallbearers are Terry Pat Reynolds, Charles Rigdon and Larry Sloan.
