Bonnie Arnold Doughty, age 79, of Reform, AL passed away April 28, 2021 at her residence after a brief illness. Graveside services will be 10:00 am Friday, May 7, 2021 at Graham Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Tim Meherg officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family would like to invite all friends to join them for a visitation on the front porch of Bonnie's home following the graveside service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ewart Doughty; son, Jimmy Arnold; her parents and brother, Dallas Mullican.
Survivors include her son, John Arnold and wife, Erin and her two precious grandchildren, Sadie Arnold and Anais Arnold (Bonnie loved Sadie and Anais so much!). Survivors also include her "adopted" son, Allen Shoemaker.
Bonnie was born May 29, 1941 in Aliceville, Alabama to the late Harwood Mullican and Laverne Colvin Mullican. She was a member of Reform First Baptist Church and a longtime resident of Pickens County. She was a retired elementary school teacher who former students will certainly remember fondly as Ms. Arnold. Bonnie so loved all her former students and was always so delighted when she reconnected with one of them.
Bonnie was a proud graduate of Howard College (now Samford University). In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made in Bonnie's name to the Orlean Beeson School of Education at Samford University (800 Lakeshore Drive, Birmingham, AL 35229).
