GORDO - Bonnie Byars Garner, age 84, of Gordo, AL died February 4, 2026 at her residence.  Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday February 9, 2026 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Stevie Junkin officiating.  Burial will be in Center Springs Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Edsel "Jimmy" Garner; her parents; sisters, Betty Jean Byars Fair and Bennie Sue Byars Mitchell and brothers, Bobby Ray Byars and William Kirk "Sonny" Byars, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Garner Plott and husband, Hunter of Tuscaloosa; son, James Timothy Garner and wife, Beth of Huntsville; sister, Billie Mae Byars Hall and husband, Gerald of Gordo; grandchildren, Elaina Faye Plott Calabro (Michael), James Daniel Garner (Olivia), Jonathan Hunter Plott, Grace Ann Garner Azar (Joseph), Victoria Maye Plott and Alexandra Colchester Plott and three great-grandchildren, Roxanne Kathleen Garner, Ann Hastings Azar and Eloise Faye Garner.
Bonnie was born October 17, 1941 in Gordo Alabama to the late William Kirk Byars, Sr. and Ella Mae House Byars.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a retired city clerk for the City of Gordo and a lifelong resident of Pickens County.
