BUHL - Bro. Richard Bernard Clanton, age 70, of Buhl, Ala., died April 16, 2017, at his residence. Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Rock Solid Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Driver, Bro. Jermie Woolbright and special mentor, Bro. Max Stripling officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be tonight, Tuesday, April 18, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Tammie Clanton; daughters, Hanna Clanton, Karen Clanton Watson (Donald) sons, Gregory Clanton (Mary), Allen Clanton (Tina) ; step son; Korey Kizziah (Brandi);Step daughters, Kendra Browning (Zack) and Krystalyn Carpenter (Jeremy); sisters, Mary Abernathy Sue Brown and Martha Junkin (Raymond); grandchildren, Dillon Falls (Kelcie), Cassie Hartley (David), Chris Clanton (Chelsea), Kristie Wolfe (Eric), Mikayla Sutton, Madison Sutton, Korbyn Kizziah, Makensey Smith, Hunter Watson and Tyler Smith and nine great-grandchildren.
Richard was born April 14, 1947 in Fayette County, Alabama to the late Eura Crate ""Eukie"" Clanton and Audie Mae Robertson Clanton. He was minister and a member of Rock Solid Baptist Church.
Richard touched the lives and hearts of countless people over the years. He had a love for life and heart for others that will never be forgotten. He loved unconditionally and always put others before himself.
The love for his family came second to only one; the love for His Savior Jesus Christ. In the last years of his life, he found tremendous joy in sharing his testimony in hopes of leading others towards eternal life. His Lord said to him ""well done good and faithful servant; enter into the joy of thy Lord.""
Pallbearers will be Dillon Falls, Chris Clanton, David Hartley, Hunter Watson, Charlie Falls and Jerry Wallace.
