Bud Blakney, age 83, of Aliceville, AL passed away April 7, 2024 in Aliceville, Alabama.  Graveside services will be 11:00 am Friday, April 12, 2024 at Franconia-Oak Grove Cemetery with Bro. Charlie Wilson and Bro. Larry Potts officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will follow the service at the graveside.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Frieda Turnipseed Blakney; daughters, Brittney Ann Blakney and Brandi Leigh Blakney; son, James Frank Blakney and wife, Penny; two brothers, Bobby Joe Blakney (Pat) and Tommy Blakney (Jan); sister, Charlotte Lowery (Dale); grandson, Jonathon Brett Blakney and a host of nieces and nephews.
Bud was born June 4, 1940 in Aliceville, Alabama to the late James Lloyd Blakney and Grace Tate Blakney.  He was the Executive Director for the Gordo Housing Authority, a veteran of the Army National Guard and a lifelong resident of Pickens County.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ricky Hankins, Rocky Craft, Hugh Summerville, Tommy Carey, McCoy Booth, Andrew Baldy, Alton Burchfield and Ted Ezelle.
