GORDO | Cason Bryant Park, age 25, of Gordo, died April 13, 2014, in Starkville, Miss. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Family Life Center with Rev. Glen Sandifer and Rev. Terry Billings officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will start from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jearldine Carver; and uncles, Tony Carver and Monty Carver.
Survivors include his parents, Butch and Mikki Park; sisters, Jaden and Jordan Park; brother, Britt Park (Chelsea); grandparents, Sealy and Betty Park; grandfather, Max Carver (Brenda); the loves of his life, his niece Crimson Park and his nephews, Carson Park and Baylor Fields; aunts, April Pate and Judy Whitehead (Steve); cousins, Ashley, Andrea, Bo, Dayleigh, Caden, Ashtyn, and Chris.
Cason was born November 20, 1988 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He was a graduate of GHS Class of 2007. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, a former U.S. Marine and a current U. S. Marine Reservist. Cason loved Alabama football, Atlanta Braves baseball, but most of all he loved his family. There wasn't anything that Cason enjoyed more than being with his family and friends. He will be missed by everyone that loved him, but his memory will always be in their hearts.
Pallbearers will be Zach Smith, Jacob Sanders, Jake Crowe, Houston Poole, Ashtyn Pate, Zach Sullivan, Chris Whitehead, and Corey O'Neal.
Honorary pallbearers are GHS Class of 2003, GHS Class of 2007, and GHS Class of 2010, and fellow servicemen.
