Catherine Williams Long Vanlandingham, at the age of 78, went to rest with the Lord on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home.  Memorial services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th Street NE in Aliceville with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will follow the service at the chapel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
Catherine leaves behind one daughter, Karen Long Huff and husband, Bill; sister, Janice Gibson (Virgil); granddaughter, Brittney Upton Riley (Billy Woods); grandsons, Z. W. Riley, Fred Riley and Bridges Woods and several nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
Catherine was born December 9, 1945 in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Holton Oliver Williams and Blanche Wright Williams.  She loved to teach young minds and give them the power of knowledge.  Catherine went to college at West Alabama University in Livingston, taught at Pickens Academy for many years and worked for the Civil Service later.  She moved to Anniston and worked at Fort McClellan, then moved to Texas where her sister was living.  She had recently moved back to Aliceville, AL to be near her daughter and grandchildren.
