Catherine Virginia Oglesby, age 85, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025.  She was surrounded by loved ones.  Catherine was born August 26, 1939 in Pickens County, Alabama.  She lived most of her life in Pickens County.  She was a homemaker and a devoted member of Mount Moriah Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Douglas Wharton and Charles Wharton officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service for visitation.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Edward Oglesby; father, Thomas J. Wharton; mother, Vada B. Fields Wharton; brothers, James M. Wharton, Frank S. Wharton and sisters, Louise E. Vails and Willette Wheat.
Survivors include one son, Billy Edward Oglesby; one grandchild, Destiny Batista of Tennessee; three great-grandchildren, Lillian Batista, Abigail Batista and Saul Batista; sisters, Patricia Whitehead (Hollis) and Emma Jean Bolling and brothers, Douglas Wharton, Buren Wharton and Charles Wharton
Pallbearers will be Billy Oglesby, Buren Wharton, Cody Barnes and Ray Vice.
