Obituary

Charles Cabiness, age 85, of Aliceville, AL died January 27, 2025 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.  Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Dogwood Chapel.  Burial will be in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Sapps with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th Street NE in Aliceville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Charles Michael Cabiness; brothers, Robert Earl Cabiness, Bobby Cabiness, Johnny Cabiness, Joe Cabiness and Leon Cabiness;  sisters, Betty Jean Cabiness and Doris Cabiness and infant granddaughter, Brandi Hester.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sherry Cabiness; daughters, Regina Cabiness and Michelle Cochran; son, David Cabiness (Teresa); brother, Buddy Cabiness; seven grandchildren, Angela Hester, Blake Cabiness, Lacie Cabiness, Donavon Cabiness, Ceirra Cabiness, Cass McLaurin and T. J. Cochran; six great-grandchildren, Kristopher Hester, Deveren Wilkins (Britney), Adam Black, Brooklyn Black, Cohen Black and Cain Black;  two great-great grandchildren, Kristopher Hester, Jr. and Gianna Hester and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles was born December 28, 1939 in Carrollton, Alabama to the late Mathis Swint Cabiness and Mary Frances Nicholson Cabiness.  He was a member of West End Baptist Church in Aliceville, a retired carpenter and veteran of the   U. S. Army National Guard.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Pilgrim Rest Cemetery Fund, c/o Jean McBride, 15689 Hwy 17, Aliceville, AL 35442.
