PLEASANT RIDGE | Charlotte Oliver Owens, age 86, of Pleasant Ridge, died August 31, 2015, at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2015, in Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Dr. Tom Kay, Jr. officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Friday, at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th St. NE, Aliceville, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth H. Owens, Sr.; her parents; brother, James L. "Jim" Oliver; and son-in-law, Harold Beatty.
Survivors include her daughter, Julia Owens; son, Ken Owens and wife Betty; brother, Bill Oliver (Barbara) of Atlanta, Ga.; sister-in-law, Audrey Oliver; grandchildren, Oliver Owens and Taylor Owens; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Owens was born October 9, 1928 in Panola. Ala. to the late James L. Oliver and Julia Grove Oliver. She was raised in Panola, married Kenneth and moved to Pleasant Ridge. Charlotte was a member of Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church, a homemaker and well known resident of the PIeasant Ridge community.
Honorary pallbearers are members of Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church. A special thank you to the staff of Aliceville Manor Nursing Home for the loving care given to our mother.
