Chester Earl Elmore, age 80, of Aliceville, AL died July 9, 2018 at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Mike Ezelle and Rev. Jack House officiating. Burial will follow in Franconia-Oak Grove Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following service at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th St. NE in Aliceville, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother, Billy Elmore; sister, Dot Noland and her husband, Don and father-in-law, William McDaniel. Survivors include his wife, Faye McDaniel Elmore; sons, Richard Earl "Ricky" Elmore (Tammy) and William Keith Elmore (Kim); sisters, Opaline Stuart and Clarine Wheat (Donald); mother-in-law, Evelyn McDaniel; three grandchildren, Ashley Elmore Wilson (Ross), Anna Elmore (Hunter) and Jacob Elmore (Katie); two great-grandchildren, Reese Wilson and Harper Wilson and a number of nieces and
nephews.
Mr. Elmore was born September 29, 1937 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Gurley Elmore and Odis Herring Elmore. He was a member of Garden Baptist Church in Aliceville, a retired ironworker and member of Ironworkers Local 92 in Birmingham, AL. Chester was a veteran of the Alabama Army National Guard and a life long resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Tre` Holland, Jimmy Holland, Buddy McDaniel, Tony McDaniel, Fred Lee and Warren Eatman.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Men's Sunday School Class of Garden Baptist Church, members of Garden Baptist Church and the staff of Aliceville Manor Nursing Home.
