GORDO Christy June Stephens, age 56, of Gordo, died October 16, 2013, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Henry Trull officiating. Burial will follow in Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery in Gordo with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the services at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Billy Connell and David Connell.

Survivors include her husband, David Stephens of Gordo, Ala.; sons, Jason Stephens (Kristy) and Todd Stephens, all of Gordo, Ala.; sisters, Patricia Kramer of Gordo, Ala., and Shirley Lipscomb of Cleveland, Tenn.; brothers, Steve Connell of Belk, Ala., and Tony Connell of Enterprise, Ala.; three grandchildren, Logan Stephens, Gabe Stephens, and Emma Stephens; and aunt, Ola Mae O'Bryant.

Mrs. Stephens was born September 5, 1957 in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama to the late Clifton Connell and Eunice Quincy Conner Connell. She was a registered nurse in the health care industry working at DCH Regional Medical Center, Bryce Hospital and several nursing homes during her career.

Pallbearers will be Chad Connell, Scott Connell, Kenny Stephens, Todd Malone, Eric Johnson, and Briar Bartlett.

Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of the community.
