ALICEVILLE – Mrs. Clem Wheat Parrish, age 91, of Aliceville, Ala., died April 30, 2018 at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Aliceville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Franconia-Oak Grove Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following service at the church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Houston Wheat, Jr. and second husband, Charles Wendell Parrish; and her parents.
Survivors include her sons, Harry H. Wheat, III and Mark E. Wheat (Melinda); daughter, Myra Wheat Plitt (Randy); stepdaughter, Cathy Booth (Billy); ten grandchildren, Hugh Wheat (Erin), Amy Wheat Self (Scott), Evan Wheat, Kathleen Wheat Sacco (Brad), Anita Wheat, Rachel Warmanen (Jesse), Aaron Plitt (Sirena), Mark Plitt, James "Trae" Hunnicutt (Rachel) and Corey Hunnicutt (Brooke); and ten great-grandchildren.
Clem was born July 14, 1926 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late Pearl Ollin Martin and Myra Zenada Falkner Martin. She was a member of Aliceville First United Methodist Church and retired bookkeeper and co-owner of Wheat Drug Store. She was a loving mother and wife, excellent bridge player and hostess.
Pallbearers will be Brad Sacco, Hugh Wheat, Evan Wheat, Billy Booth, Wayne Perry and Michael Perry.
Honorary pallbearers are Aliceville Manor Nursing Home employees.
