Dale was born April 4, 1955 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada. He attended Memorial University where he obtained his Medical Council of Canada degree in 1983 and began his lifelong career practicing Medicine for over 40 years. He moved to Aliceville, Alabama in 1986 where he found home and first opened Aliceville Family Practice. Throughout his career, he served his community and surrounding areas through his clinic, home visits, Pickens County Medical Center, and Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. His devotion and deep love for medicine left a lasting impression on so many.
Outside of medicine, he had a love for golf, music, traveling, and most of all his family. He cherished his family above all else and took pride in every moment spent with them. He was a proud husband, father, and "Poppy." He had a gift for sharing stories of memorable moments throughout his lifetime that so many will always remember. He was also proud of his Canadian roots and brought many traditions here to the south to share with others. He could be seen every year on November 11th wearing a poppy flower for Remembrance Day and some may have been a lucky few to have been "screeched- in" as an honorary Newfoundlander.
While Dale will be dearly missed, he left a lasting mark and so many memories that will be cherished forever. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to either First Presbyterian Church of Aliceville or Palmer Home. 800 Baldwin Road S. Lake Cormorant, MS 38641 www.palmerhome.org
