Dana Ann Sparks, age 74, of Reform, AL passed away January 5, 2023 at her residence. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Arbor Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ashley Sparks; her mother, Betty H. McDaniel and stepfather, John McDaniel.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Mike Sparks; two daughters, Casey Wiginton (Clark ) of Gordo and Jenny Fields (Alan) of Reform; three sisters, Judy Dean of Columbus, MS, Janice Acker of Carrollton and Jackie Reed (Arnold) of Tuscaloosa; two brothers, George Fazekas (Beth) of Reform and Johnny McDaniel (Debra) of Gordo; six grandchildren, Maci, Corey, Peyton, Drew, Reagan and Davis and special nieces and nephews, Tracie Sparks Frye (Thomas), Brian Sparks (Susan) and Jamie Fazekas Taylor (Allen).
After graduation, Dana married her high school sweetheart. She began her career in the medical field as a radiologic technologist. After 40 plus years, she retired as a civilian in 2014 from the Air Force Base Hospital in Columbus, MS. Dana was a member of New Salem Baptist Church
Dana had a servants heart and loved her family and friends dearly. She will be remembered for her wittiness and joyful spirit.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Pickens County High School Class of 1966.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Boothe and staff, Dr. Costa at UAB Hematology Oncology, Dr. Bostick and staff at Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center, Amedisys Hospice and special caregivers, Sandra Mayhew, Jackie Lowery, Deborah Sanders, Tammy Booth, Sandi Towne and Lisa Peoples.
