Daniel Thomas "Danny" Finn, age 72, passed away February 4th, 2021 at his residence in Carrollton, AL. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel in Reform, AL with Rev. David Blakney officiating. Burial will follow at Carrollton City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be immediatley following the service at the funeral home.
Danny was preceded in death by his father Charles Edward Finn and stepfather Carl Sisson. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Donna Skelton Finn, his mother, Terri Sisson of Ft Pierce, FL, his sons, Chuck McPherson (Fairy) of Pungoteague, VA and Doug Capps (Shelly) of Coldwater, MS, his brother, Tom Finn (Kathy) of Tulare, CA, his sister, Elizabeth Trachtman of Ft. Pierce, FL,his aunt Reta Johnson of Ft. Pierce, FL and grandchildren, Dalton Capps of Jackson, MS , Brandon McPherson, and Katie McPherson of Pungoteague, VA, and two step- grandchildren, Nathan and Alexis and his beloved dog Buddy.
Danny was born on July 24, 1948 in Lawrence, Mass. He was a member of the Catholic faith and was a United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Era, where he served as a diver and ship's accountant.
His many joys in life were flying, golf, diving, fishing, and cooking. Danny had a keen mind for mathematics, computer technology and he developed a computer accounting software program. As a restauranteur and amazing chef, Danny was involved with many area restaurants and served as past President of the Golden Triangle Regional Restaurant Association and served on the board of the Mississippi Association of Restaurants. His many restaurants included: The Red Barn in Carrollton, Pizza Hut in Birmingham, The Lodge in Pickensville, The Depot Restaurant in Columbus, MS, Summit Landings in Sebastian, FL, The Cove in Eleuthera, Bahamas and Big Misters in Starkville, MS. Danny retired after working several years with the Pickens County Sheriff's Department as a Corrections Officer and department head of the kitchen. Honorary Pallbearers will be other family members and all his friends.
