Danny Hayse Moorhead, age 74, of Reform, AL passed away March 30, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Friday, April 2, 2021 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Shaw and Rev. Kevin Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home. The family asks anyone attending the service to wear crimson or Alabama in honor of Danny's love for the Crimson Tide.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dean Cockrell Moorhead; daughter, Dana Moorhead; son-in-law, Clint Kyles; light of his life, granddaughter, Preslee Hayse Kyles; nieces, Mavis Unruh (Victor), Margaret Stroud (Stan), Stacy Cockrell and Kaylan Cockrell and nephews, Robert Jackson Cockrell, Shay Cockrell (Katie) and Quin Stroud.
Danny was born December 1, 1946 in McShan, Alabama to the late Hayse E. Moorhead and Mary Frances Jacobs Moorhead. He worked at Weyerhaeuser in Millport, AL for 26 years and retired from Buchanan Hardwood Flooring in Aliceville. Danny was a member of the Baptist Faith and served his country in the United States Army.
Pallbearers will be Robert Jackson Cockrell, Norm Simpson, Victor Unruh, Chandler Robertson, Jeremy Robertson, Jeremy Shelton, Jeff Criswell, Timber Brown and Bailey Brown.
Honorary Pallbearers are friends of the Coalfire and McShan communities and members of The Margie Duckworth and the late Jerry Duckworth's Weekend Alabama football family.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Union Hill Cemetery Fund, c/o Terry or Janice Lowe, 3190 Herbert Windle Road, Reform, AL 35481.
