ALICEVILLE – Darthy Marie Thomas Brock, age 79, of Aliceville, Ala., died October 13, 2016, at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Randy Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery with Skelton Funeral of Reform directing. The family will have visitation at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th St. NE, Aliceville, AL 35442, one hour prior and immediately following the service. At the request of the family for their privacy, they ask for no food or visitors at the home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Donnie Thomas, Harold Thomas and Jerry Thomas; and one sister, Carol Bryant.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, James E. ""Jim"" Brock; daughter, Lisa Brock Bridges and husband, Tracy; son, Jimmy Dwayne ""Jim Jr."" Brock; sisters, Doris McCafferty, Peggy Mauldin (Dickie), Sharon Chandler, Barbara Harcrow, Patricia Cook (Buddy) and Sandra Thomas; and brother, Eugene Thomas (Martha).
Darthy was born September 7, 1937 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Harvey Thomas and Thelma Whatley Thomas. She was a member of West End Baptist Church in Aliceville and a retired seamstress for Stevens Fashions.
Pallbearers will be Bill Briggs, Jim McKnight, Tracy Bridges, Ricky Findley, Hubert Earl Harless and Dale McCafferty.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Aliceville Manor Nursing Home and Southern Care Hospice.
