ALICEVILLE | Rev. David Milford Barrentine, age 87, of Aliceville, formerly of Tallassee, Ala., went home to glory on Feb. 7, 2015, at his residence. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015, at Dogwood Chapel. A 3 p.m. graveside service will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tallassee, Ala., with Jay Woodall officiating, and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, at Dogwood Chapel, 200 5th St. N.E., Aliceville, Ala.He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sara Thompson Barrentine; son, David Wayne Barrentine; daughter, Janie Hall; his parents, Carlos and Ada Wilcutt Barrentine; stepmother, Stella Romine Barrentine; brother, Buel Barrentine; sisters, Pearline Sanders, Delphine Vines, and Mavie Evans; and stepbrother, Boyd Taylor.Survivors include his beloved wife, Dorothy McDaniel Barrentine ""Miss Dot"" of Aliceville, Ala.; daughters, Martha Barrentine and Miriam Smith (Gary), both of Deatsville, Ala.; son Tom Barrentine of Tuscaloosa; stepdaughter, Sherry Cusanelli (Bob) of Carrollton, Ala.; sister, Camellia Huey (K.D) of Curry, Ala.; stepsister, Betty Maynord (Bill) of Hueytown, Ala.; grandsons, David Adams, Paul Adams, Jonathan Barrentine, and Marshall Stough; step-grandsons, Robert and John Cusanelli; step-granddaughter, Carol Cussanelli; and great-grandchildren, Sara Kate, Sarah and Alicia Adams, Olivia and Madison Barrentine, and Tristan Levi Brewer; and numerous nieces and nephews.David was born December 4, 1927 in Berry, Alabama. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1945 to service his country in World War II. After being honorably discharged from the Navy in 1947, David attended seminary at Tennessee Temple Schools to become a Minister of the Gospel. He began his ministry serving as a youth pastor at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Hueytown, Ala. Throughout his ministry, he pastored five churches: Wilcutt Memorial Tabernacle, Tuscaloosa, Ala., West End Baptist, Aliceville, Ala., Tallaweka Baptist, Tallassee, Ala., West Side Independent Baptist, Tallassee, Ala., and Garden Baptist, Aliceville, Ala.Pallbearers will be Marshall Stough, David Adams, Paul Adams, Donald Mac Powell, Charles Ashcraft, Phil Fitch, Ganus Burkhalter, and Michael Spain.Honorary pallbearers are members of West End Baptist Church, Westside Baptist Church and Garden Baptist Church, all pastors and wives of the Pickens Baptist Association, his mountain buddies, David Gentry, Ted Ezelle, neighborhood friends, Amedisys Home Health and Amedisys Hospice, Dr. James Parker, Jamie Harris, Billy Huff, residents and staff of Aliceville Manor, and the Sing-Along Group.In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to be given to The Gideons International, P.O.
