David Overton Jennings, age 85, of Reform, Alabama died August 9, 2024 at Hospice of West Alabama. A private burial was held with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Reform First Presbyterian Church with Pastor George McLaurine officiating.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Winifred Jennings; his father, Joe O. Jennings; his mother, Lois E. Jennings and his sister, Sheila Jennings.
Survivors include his brother-in-law and wife, John and Valerie Green of Gravesend, England; two nieces, Catherine of Oxford, England and Frances of London, England; two great-nieces; one great-nephew and special family, Rodney Walters, Beverly Walters, Chelsey Walters and Caleb Walters. David also leaves behind many special, loving cousins and a multitude of great friends.
David was born on November 6, 1938 in Reform, Alabama. He retired after 22 years in the United States Air Force. He then worked many years for the United States Postal Service.
David was a member of the Masons and American Legion. He was also an esteemed member of "Jack's Coffee Drinkers."
David has a generous heart and loving spirit. He spent his entire life in service to others. His love for God, his church, his family and friends was evident to everyone that met him.
Honorary Pallbearers are Kevin Brouillette, Ted Costello, Chris Costello, Jim White, Ron Cameron, Bill Hammett, Sherry and Jim Henson, Gail Piret, Daisy Jean Junkin, ICU staff at UAB Highlands, Reform Senior Center and friends at Arbor Woods Health & Rehab.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Reform First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 178, Reform, AL 35481 or to St Jude Children's Hospital Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
