GORDO | Della Sue Hannah Duren, age 94, of Gordo, Ala., died Oct. 2, 2014, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron McKay officiating. Burial will follow in Gordo City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Grady Sullivan and James Harvey Duren, Sr., and her mother, Lura Hannah.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Carol Thomas of Gordo, Ala.; son, James Harvey "Jimmy" Duren, Jr. and wife, Sharon Lamberth Duren of Birmingham, Ala.; three grandsons, Ken Thomas (Rita Cope), Jim Thomas and Jason Duren (Bashan Holt); three great-grandchildren, Hunter Thomas (Chelsea Lopez), Zac Thomas, and Keifer Thomas.
Della Sue was born December 5, 1919. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gordo, a retired employee of Westinghouse with 29 years of service and a well-known resident of the Gordo community.
