ALICEVILLE | Dewey M. Trapp, Sr., age 83, of Aliceville, died November 19, 2014, at Pickens County Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Aliceville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Alexander and Keith Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Franconia-Oak Grove Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following service at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joyce Trapp LeMaistre.
Survivors include his wife, Mary J. Cummings Trapp; son, Dewey M. Trapp, Jr. (Jeana); daughters, Libby Trapp Heritage (Johnny), Angela Trapp Currence (Robert) and Patti Trapp Jones (Keith); six grandchildren, Amy Trapp Turnipseed (Clif), Nathan Trapp, Ryan and Dylan Jones and Blake and Mary Currence; and three great-grandchildren, Stone, Ryder and Cohen Turnipseed.
Mr. Trapp was born January 29, 1931 in the Liberty community of Pickens County, Alabama to the late Morris C. Trapp and Bertha Jaynes Trapp. He was a member of Aliceville First United Methodist Church, a retired farmer, a U.S. Army veteran and a well-known resident of Pickens County.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Trapp, Ryan Jones, Dylan Jones and Blake Currence.
