NORTHPORT | Diane Marine Drain, age 62, of Northport, died October 5, 2014, at Hospice of West Alabama. Graveside services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Carrollton City Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Avery officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. The family will received friends immediately following the service at the Carrollton Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Drain, Sr.; and mother, Carolyn Kimbrell Marine.
Survivors include her son, David Lee Drain, Jr. and wife, Christie of Northport, Ala.; father, John R. "Jack" Marine of Aliceville, Ala.; sister, Sandra Marine Junkin and husband, Tony of Gordo, Ala.; brother, Reed Marine and wife, Lynne of Aliceville, Ala.; mother-in-law, Mary Evelyn Drain of Carrollton, Ala.; and three grandchildren, Charley Drain, Josey Drain and Rylie Drain.
Diane was born January 14, 1952 in Macon, Mississippi. She was a wonderful homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She was a former manager at Cold Water Creek in Tuscaloosa and former member of the Aliceville Sunshine Club.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Drain, Caleb Marine, Scott Junkin, Josh Pate, Wade Goodman, Hal McGee, Wyatt Pate and A.D. Christian.
Honorary pallbearers are former employees of Cold Water Creek, staff of Hospice of West Alabama especially Gwen Kendrick and members of Aliceville Sunshine Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
