Diane Beason
Nance
February 23, 1947 – April 19, 2026
Ms. Diane Beason Nance, age 79, of Carrollton, AL went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2026. Ms. Diane donated her body to science so she could help with a cure for other cancer patients and cancer survivors. A Celebration of Life service will be 12:30 pm Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the Tom Bevill Lock and Dam Pavilion next to the Visitor’s Center in Pickensville.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Walterine Johnson Tuten and husband Bill Tuten; father, Ed Beason and wife, Ruby Beason; three brothers, John , Larry and Danny Paul Beason; the father of her children, Harold Nance and Bobby Howard whom she was married to for twelve years.
Survivors include her children, Delin Nance (Lynn), Dewayne Nance (Nichole) and Candy Beard (Gene); grandchildren, Clay (Nikki), Stephanie, Megan (Colby), Coty, Hunter (Camryn), Nick (Anna), Barron (Kendall) and Kristen; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several step-grand and great-grandchildren; sister, Patty Beason; brothers, Mike Melton and Gerald Jones (Wanda) and many nephews, nieces and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Diane was born February 23, 1947 and attended Aliceville High School. Diane was a very special lady and always had a lot to TALK about. She loved her three kids and grandkids and always had their back no matter what. She was a hard worker with her first job at the Cotton Mill in Aliceville, AL, then to Westinghouse in Reform, AL, then to Stephens Fashions in Carrollton, AL and then to Weyerhaeuser Paper Mill where she retired. She looked forward to the Weyerhaeuser reunions every year so she could catch up and talk their ears off.
Diane was a breast cancer survivor and a colon cancer survivor for more than 25 years in which she never stopped working during her treatments. Her motto was “if you don’t use it, you lose it.” So she pulled through and kept on going.
She had a hand in raising a lot of kids during her life and we know there are a lot of “remember when” stories being told right now.
Over the past few years, her joy was sitting at her kitchen table watching her four little munchkins , Russell, Owen, Emmett and Bennett run around and play out in the yard.
She was a great mother and will be truly missed by her family and everyone who knew her, especially for her smile and laughter.
In honor of Ms. Diane, please take a moment and listen to “Amazing Grace” by Elvis Presley.
