CARROLLTON | Dora Brown Johnson, age 82, of Carrollton, died December 6, 2013, at home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Carrollton United Methodist Church with Rev. Deb McGaughy and Rev. Donnie Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Carrollton City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray L. "Hotdog" and her daughter, Patricia J. Hudson and her parents. Survivors include her daughter, Patsy Johnson Kitchens; sister, Ola McBee (Mac); sisters-in-law, Reva Brown and Wilma Johnson; grandchildren, Chastity Marchant, Christy K. McGee (Jeffery) and Chad Hudson (Megan); great-grandchildren, Matthew, Brittany, Brandy and Daniel Hicks and Haley, Ava and Makayla McGee.Mrs. Johnson was born June 16, 1931 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late Virgil Hollie Brown and Willie Viola Martin Brown. She was a member of Carrollton United Methodist Church, the retired director of Carrollton Housing Authority and a well know resident of Pickens County. Dora was also retired from the food service industry and was very active in the restoration of the Pickens County Courthouse.Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of Carrollton.The family suggests memorials to the National Committee for Prevention of Elder Abuse, 1730 Rhode Island Ave. NW, Suite 1200, Washington, DC 20036 or to the Pickens County Courthouse Preservation Fund, P.O.
