Dora Ruth Stone, age 88, of Perkinston, Miss., formerly of Carrollton, Ala., Died September 3, 2013, at Stone County Hospital. Graveside service was held on September 7, 2013, at Carrollton City Cemetery. With Rev. David Blakney officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform Directing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lloyd Stone; her parents; her sisters, Lizzie Lee Pickler, Mosselle Woods, and Mary Cothran; and her brother, Olen Rogers.
Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Stone Wheat (Dick) of Grand Bay, AL.; sons, Jimmy Stone (Margaret) of Perkinston, Miss. And Mike Stone (Regina) of Grady, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Ken Wheat ( Tammy), Tom Wheat , Susan W. Chandler (Eric), Katie W. Kendrick ( Will), Adam Stone ( Melanie), Robin Haddigan ( Ryan), Laura Barr ( Austin) and Jonathan Stone; and 15 great-grandchildren>
Mrs. Stone was born November 29, 1924 in Marion, Ark. To the late Phillip Wesley Rogers and Hattie Smith Rogers. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grand Bay, Alabama and retired owner of Stone's Grocery in Carrollton.
