GORDO – Doris Elmore Shirley, age 75, of Gordo, Ala., died September 1, 2017, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Holliman officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Springs Methodist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George A. Elmore and Lowell O'Bryant Elmore and brothers, James Elmore and Dawson Elmore.
Survivors include her husband, James Raiford Shirley; daughter, Sheila Shirley Wood (Larry); son, Randall Shirley (Ronda); sisters, Elsie Holliman, Mary Gwin (Bob) and Loretta Gregory; brothers, Price Elmore (June) and Ralph Elmore; six grandchildren, Jennifer Elmore (Luke), Kristen Posey (Stephen), Kaley Grocholski (Seth), Brendan Wood (Kacie), Deanna Wood and Jordan Shaw (Corey); and ten great-grandchildren, Emily Grimes, Gracie Elmore, Ryder Elmore, Kaden Posey, Kolten Posey, Kinley Grocholski, Peyton Grocholski, Hunter Wood, Daniel Trawick and Jacob Trawick; and a number of nieces and nieces.
She was a loving wife and mother, ""Granny"" filled our hearts with love and hope.
