Doris Ann Smith, age 88, of Carrollton, AL passed away November 30, 2023 at her son's residence in Carrollton.  Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Monday, December 4, 2023 at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Boothe officiating.  Burial will be in Carrollton City Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Smith, Sr.; her parents; sisters, Louise Lancaster and Beatrice Jasper and infant sister, Zelma Dean Lancaster.
Survivors include her daughter, Kay McAteer; three sons, Robert E. Smith, Jr. (Rebecca), Mike Smith (Tammy) and David Smith (Vanessa); sister, Faye Sessions (Travis); two brothers, Robert Lancaster and Bobby Lancaster (Laudice); nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Doris was born August 12, 1935 in Gordo, Alabama to the late Elijah Andrew Lancaster and Claudine Kelley Lancaster.  She was a member of Carrollton United Methodist Church, a retired employee of Westinghouse and owner of Smith's Hardware in Carrollton.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Trey Smith, Cody McAteer, Robby McAteer, Travis Noland, Kevin Smith, John Smith, Nathan Appleby and Owen Appleby.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Amedisys Hospice team and Nicki Hammonds and special caregiver, Cornelia Smith.
