Dorothy “Dot” McCool Bridges, age 86, of Carrollton, AL died July 11, 2026 at her residence. Funeral services will be11:00 am Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Walker officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will follow the service at the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burnice O. Bridges and her parents.

Survivors include her daughter, Laura Bridges Smith (Tommy) of Tuscaloosa; her sons, Timothy O. Bridges (Karla) of Gordo and Robert Tracy Bridges (Lisa) of Aliceville; brother, Robert Earl “Bob” McCool (Barbara) of Northport; “Sister” Brenda Watkins; three grandchildren, Rachel Preiss (Trent), Riley Bridges and Rhys Smith; one great-grandchild, Holland Preiss; a number of nieces and nephews and many other friends.

Dot was born December 30, 1939 in Aliceville, Alabama to the late Earlie McCool and Louise Butler McCool.

Honorary Pallbearers are Dennis Hollingsworth, Mike Latham, Ed Lott, Zane Winfield, Butch McCafferty, Mike McCafferty, members of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and members of Carrollton Baptist Church.
