GORDO – Dorothy ""Dot"" Daniel, age 84, of Gordo, Ala., died April 29, 2017, at Heritage Health Care & Rehab. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. today, May 2, 2017, at Gordo City Cemetery with Bro. George Jackson officiating and Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Daniel; son, Barry Daniel; her parents; sister, Annie Gay Norris; and brother, Bob Fair.Survivors include her brother, Mack and wife, Nell; brothers-in-law, Billy Daniel (Edith) and Donald Daniel (Margie); and many nieces and nephews.Dot was born November 21, 1932 in Pickens County, Alabama to the late John Curtis Fair and Mary Ethel King Fair. She was a longtime member of the Gordo community and loved her time there with all of her many friends. Dot, Bobby and Barry Daniel were proud to be part of the group that helped start the Pickens County tradition of Mule Day.Thanks to the many caregivers and visitors. She loved the visits, prayers, smiles and especially the music from the Gordo Boys. Special thanks to Bro. George Jackson for treating Dot and Barry so special for the many years they resided at Heritage Health Care.Pallbearers will be her nephews.Honorary pallbearers are employees of Heritage Health Care and friends of the Gordo community.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in memory of Dot to Hargrove United Methodist Church, c/o Janice Tate, 2267 Fellowship Church Road, Gordo, AL 35466 or a charity of your choice.
